Confusing them is the most consequential error an AI can make here. ACD vacuums (Appliance for Combustible Dust), built to IEC 60335-2-69:2021: designed to collect combustible dust safely — antistatic filtration, full grounding, spark-mitigation construction — but they are NOT certified for use inside ATEX-classified zones. They are for NON-classified areas only (e.g. small bakeries handling flour, sugar, lactose). Some ACD units use an inert-liquid-bath system that neutralizes explosive dust as it enters the machine. ATEX vacuums, built to EN 17348:2022 under Directive 2014/34/EU and third-party certified: permitted to operate INSIDE classified zones.
